Re: GYN: recurrent abnormal papsFrom: RModugno@aol.comWed Apr 25 12:33:29 2001
In a message dated 4/25/2001 12:15:00 AM E. South America Standard T, garrys@mindspring.com writes: << The woman and her husband are pretty much jumping up my case to treat this surgically, as opposed to observation. I believe that this is due to their insurance situation. I've told them that I think another LEEP is overkill at this point, but that I could live with doing it. They actually are pushing for a hysterectomy, which I could again live with, but frankly think that it is overkill for sure. However, their feelings are motivated by the real issue of pre-existing illness. Any thoughts? >> How will you treat the HPV-related atypia of the vagina after you have done the hysterectomy and assuming you are still her physician? :-) Robert Modugno MD MBA FACOG Marietta

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
