Back to the original issue--would you start a normally cycling woman on HRT and Fosamax to treat osteoporosis? I would only use the Fosamax, as her cyclicity implies estrogen is present. Once clearly perimenopausal, or menopausal, I would then promote HRT in a cyclic fashion with a minimum of Premarin 0.625 daily or the equivalent. Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
