Just to add to the other posting that I have written - this is not how to run a trial of scar. 9 hours in first stage and two hours in second would not be acceptable in my book. If this is supposed to represent an average "VBAC" then I am not surprised that the rupture rate has put fear into everyone. snip..."L&D calls at 0700 on Monday morning to tell Dr. R that Mrs. Jones is in labor and she has a prior CS. They tell him she is ruptured, term, 1 cm and contracting q 3 min. Her strip is reactive.... It is now 4 pm and Mrs. Jones starts to push... 2 hours later she is crowning when the monitor begins to show deep variables with slow return." --

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
