Cervical PregnancyFrom: jafar6 (jafar6@optonline.net)Mon Apr 16 23:33:53 2001
Thanks for your help with our cervical pregnancy patient. The patient is 8 weeks. 32 year g3 p1. We gave her MTX (1 dose) 50mg/sq m. 2 days ago and she had frequent N&V. With a beta HCG of 50,000 and a live pregnancy, it will take several more doses to work. The endo consultants say keep going with IM MTX as necssary. They don't believe the injecting the fetus directly will help. Patient bled down from H/H 8.8/29 to 8.2/25.5 after passing 2 clots and stabilized. She has hot bled for almost 2 day. The patient was offered options and chose a D&C. We will have ultrasound available, a foley with large bulb, mersilene ribbon for a cerclage, catheters inserted for possible angiographic embolization and 4 units packed cells in the room. She is aware that a hysterectomy might be necessary and that more methotrexate has been recommended by some. Tomorrow, angiography suite at 11, D&C at 2. I hope. And, of course, I gave her my beeper # to page me for advice she before goes on a Las Vegas vacation in July. Gary Kleinman Bridgeport CT 1. Beeper 203 279-1206 2."Don't go out on a limb without a parachute, lifeboat and a helicopter arranged to pick you up"- an anonymous medical consultant commenting on my question about opening a practice.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
