Vaginal delivery after A& P Repair?From: Barborza@aol.comSun Apr 15 15:26:35 2001
I currently have a patient, Gr 3, P2002. 1st birth was NSVD, second C/s for fetal distress from double nuchal cord at 8 cms. Had an A&P repair 3 years later. Now pg again(4 years later), wants to VBAC. Says the surgeon told her she could have a vaginal delivery. My backup says no. I have never run into this before, as most women who have had this surgery are finished with childbearing. The only case I've have even vaguely resembling this one was a woman who was born with imperforate anus and was told never to have a vaginal delivery. Any comments would be appreciated. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
