Re: ?hysterotomy at 22 weeksFrom: Joanne Bulley (islesannie@yahoo.com)Sun Apr 15 00:26:54 2001
Whew!!! Well, with the prior doc saying "must operate" - I too would have continued with the paln, relucatantly! If I had started with her and found the cervix to be 4-5 cm - that is "completely dilated" for 22.5 weeks. And I'd have opted for what you ended up doing - with the knowledge that abdominal surgery may be needed as well. As for the resus - I'd have peds there to evaluate the gestational age and whether resus is necessary. As was said - Kudos for a job well done - and take a day off! Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
