Re: cervical scarringFrom: Joanne Bulley (islesannie@yahoo.com)Tue Apr 3 22:38:30 2001
I have had a couple of these usually after the patient has had several cryos/cones etc - most eventually "gave way" to digital "tearing" . I have had some I put in stirrups and used (extra long) scissors - or scalpel - do an X or + and then it gives way. One I went to the OR and got a spinal - the others weren't really that painful. I guess I had 6 or 7 of these between 1985 & 1998. One patient that I can recall quite clearly - went to the OR as above, finally delivered vaginally, postpartum the cervix looked quite normal and second labor was completely normal. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
