This was a big issue when my wife got out of the Air Force and joined in our practice. She is not only the only female in our group, but the only female in town. Naturally, all those patients with male OB/GYN issues came to see her, and began to exert an enormous amount of pressure, up to and including emotional blackmail, to try and persuade her to promise to deliver them herself, no matter what. Lisa quickly learned how untenable that situation was. The ones she agreed to deliver were shockingly unappreciative, and those that she did not agree to deliver were pointing to the ones that she did give in to, so now she does not agree to deliver anyone outside of her regular call time. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
