One of our referral hospitals has an immediate fax policy. Anything the doctors dictate, gets faxed immediately to the referring doctors. It is quite educational, because we send our major trauma patients there and we can follow along with what happens to them as it happens. As far as the patient in question, if our clinic referred the patient to this GYN Onc, I would feel comfortable seeing the patient, evaluating the wounds and prescribing pain meds as I saw fit for the patient, not necessarily the Percocet. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
