Re: Anyone using the Gynecare BipolarFrom: Mark Perloe (mperloe@ivf.com)Sat Mar 3 10:09:42 2001
The electrode is bigger and the vision with this system is not as clear compared to using a Circon resectoscope with either the vaportrode or the wire loop. Of course this system requires use of sorbitol and as such one must carefully monitor I&O. I have not been happy with visualization with either the bipolar Gynecare or the Storz system. I believe the continuous flow and optics in the circon are better. BIpolar cutting is also slower than vaporization of monopolar cutting.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
