Re: Anyone using the Gynecare Bipolar Resectoscope/Hysteroscope system?From: ENDODOK@aol.comFri Mar 2 17:42:20 2001
I have tried bipolar resection systems and am not impressed with their performance compared to traditional monopolar devices. To some extent, the hype on hyponatremia and cerebral edema is making a market for the bipolar systems. IMHO, careful monitoring of fluid in and fluid out, and being careful not to exceed a 1000 cc discrepancy makes the possibility of a disastrous outcome exceedingly unlikely. However technology continues to evolve and improve. I would try the various devices now available, then decide. JGB

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
