I too find a 50% no-show rate very high. You might consider the things mentioned by Ashley. One way to find out how the front office handles appointments, directions and such would be to have a female friend or perhaps a nurse with whom you get along well call the office and pretend to be a new patient. She could then "give grades" on courtesy, helpfulness etc. Kevin -----Original Message----- From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net]On Behalf Of Rafael Haciski MD Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2001 2:38 AM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: Re: TeleVox Ashley, It's actually the sad state of affairs in these parts. We are very conveniently located, give detailed descriptions, send them practice info before the visit, including map, and call them the day before. Usually the hard-core infertility patients (with voluminous records forwarded to us before visit) all show up, it's the younger patients, primarily for GYN visits that fail to show most often. (about 85% of our practice is infertility, rest are GYN) Rafael Rafael Haciski, MD FACOG Gynecology & Infertility Assoc. Baltimore MD http://www.ivf-md.com

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
