Here are the CPT Codes fro Phone consultations: 99371

Physician phone consultation 99372

Physician phone consultation 99373

Physician phone consultation

Furthermore, there is no RVU listed for them. The insurers will not pay for these codes either. However if you call your Attorney, the clock starts clicking and you do get charged. So figure out the system

I would think that it is fraud to use office codes. Of course, I am not a lawyer.

It is not fraud, there are actually codes for them

I want to be very specific here...If you treat someone over the phone, would you submit a bill to the insurance company for an office visit... and code it as such. Is THAT fraud?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
