Can't do that - it's fraud. We'll come visit you in the pen. :)

I believe that the E&M coding requires a face-to-face visit/interaction, and phone just does not meet that requirement.

"Consultation" requires that the patient be referred to you by another practitioner, and in follow-up you need to send a report to that person. Just because the patient wanted to talk does not make it a "consultation."
