Fabre's Disease and CMLFrom: William Von Almen Ii (wfvaii@pol.net)Thu Feb 22 11:28:11 2001
Oh exalted list I have had 2 patients recently with problems I need help with. #1 Not pregnant, has Fabre's disease and is on diovan (ace inhib). This is an x-linked disease, mom has mild form, brother has kidney transplant. She is on diovan to correct proteinuria, not hypertension, she also has some joint crises and eye findings. Questions: Does she need meds if pregnant? High Risk for pre-eclampsia? Anything else? #2 Husband has CML, very low grade at present. Mom wants to know inheritance and if it would be wise to bank cord blood, primarily for child, if at risk for disease. Any help appreciated PS Happy Mardi Gras to all, I am on my way to Breckenridge! The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
