Re: VBAC, immediate availabilty and change in hospital policyFrom: ainsron@msn.comSun Feb 11 15:42:48 2001
Of course, the patient is important and we all went into medicine because of some sense of altruisim and desire to help people with problems and there many occaisions when I give up my time with no expectation of anything in return except perhaps a "thank you." (to schools, sports clubs, scouting, church, etc.) On the other hand, I want to be the one deciding when and where I give up my time, just like Bob Wooley wants to decide when and where he will donate his money. Just like most other MDs, when I went into medicine I didn't have business experience and I've had to learn through the school of hard knocks how to manage the business side of my practice. That experience tells me that the only thing of value I have to give to my patients is my time, and the more time I give away, the less time I have to provide for myself and my family.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
