The difference, I hope, is that while you may prefer to see a man, if you needed to see a woman who was more available or better qualified, you would, though I may be doing you credit. This not the same thing as a woman who will ONLY see another woman, or a man that will ONLY see a man. These patients are bringing other issues to the examination room, and my wife's experience has been that these are not the only issues that they bring with them.

Umm- let's see - how many of us - (male list members) would go to a female urologist? I feel more comfortable with a male urologist - I am a giant danger sign - ;-)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
