Re: When does the cervix closes after a complete abortionFrom: Jane Helwig, MD (jane@seasonedsystems.com)Wed Jan 31 11:26:20 2001
Well, as a matter of fact I did a D&C yesterday for incomplete abortion and the cervix was about 3 cm dilated. Today I did laparoscopic tubal ligation on the same patient (19 hours later) and the cervix was less than 1 cm dilated. I actually had been a little concerned that the Cohen cannula would pass into the endometrial cavity but that was not a problem.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
