If nothing else these rules WILL make us all think more about how meticulous we are with patient information (because we have been habitually pretty sloppy in retrospect, e.g. paper diaries, charts left out/open at night, etc.).

In our eNATAL prenatal care system (http://www.enatal.com), we do allow docs to download a profile of just their patients or every patient in their group as an HTML or CSV file. The HTML file is optimized for viewing on PalmPilot, and the CSV file can be used for any number of purposes, handheld or desktop. Not taking care of this information properly could lead to major havoc (and liablity for the clinician), but we're still going to make this info available in the interest of better patient care.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
