Re: Preterm labor/transferFrom: Joanne Bulley (islesannie@yahoo.com)Tue Jan 30 21:43:30 2001
At several times with HMO/other insurance reviewers I have made a statement to the effect that they could send someone out to immediately take management of the case and effectively "take the patient in transfer" and be resposible for their own decisions - I was usually immediately granted permisssion to take care of the patient my way. I usually pointed out whatever dire consequence I saw for the patient with what they were proposing and once I put it 100% in their laps, they backed down.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
