Yes - this is a multifaceted issue. The USA has the highest unintended pregnancy rate of the industrialized world. Personally I think it is one aspect of no-one wants to take resposibility for anything (hence the whole tort chaos) as well as everyone wanting instant gratification.

So - until we somehow (and I will not hold my breath) get the populace as a whole to be more personally responsible for individaul actions - we can help out by providing easy access to some things - and since OCP's have a variety of health benefits - why NOT have exceedingly easy access to contraception?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
