Re: 'She dropped the Progestin in HRT'From: K Dew (kdew@bellsouth.net)Sun Jan 21 18:28:29 2001
I too have had this experience. The reason given most often is that the patient "felt funny" on the days she took the provera (the most common progestin used around here) so she just stopped taking it because "someone told her too..." Most of them, when counselled, were willing to go back on the sequential regimen or the "two pill" combined regimen or were willing to try the one pill, combined regimen. I usually request that they allow me to do an endometrial biopsy if they've been on the estrogen alone for more than a few months. Kevin Dew, MD OB/GYN Bardstown, KY

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
