I have one ultrasound tech who is contract labor, she spends one evening per week in each office.

I have never seen the need to have RNs or LPNs in my office. Medical assistants can give injections, draw blood, assist me with procedures and the like.

One might argue that a RN or LPN might be better at "patient education" but unless you're lucky enough to get one already trained, you're going to have to spend lots of time educating the educator. My medical assistants are fully capable of doing most of the teaching my practice requires of them. they also cost a whole lot less than the RNs or LPNs require

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
