Re: Office Staff QuestionFrom: ainsron@msn.comTue Jan 16 21:12:22 2001
I'm in solo practice and have 3 1/2 staff members. One person does the front desk full-time, most of the scheduling, phone answering and posting of insurance checks, etc. One person does billing full-time, some scheduling. One person works in back office, also does filing, she does some injections but is only a medical assistant, not nurse. Half time person fills in for others when on vacation, does authorizations with insurances and some front desk work to relieve full time person. I don't have a office manager, and do accts payable, payroll and deposits myself - probably not very effecient for my time, but my wife and myself feel it is less risky than allowing others access to check writing, etc.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
