Guys, Last week we took out a large myomatous (one 7cm intramurally, one 8cm subserous, (widely) pedunculated) uterus, vaginally. Was a bit of a struggle so the pedunculated myoma was cut off at the base, removed, then the intramural one was morcellated, and finally the generally enlarged uterus was removed. The pedunculated one looked a bit funny, bluish texture on one side but otherwise like a typical pedunculated myoma. Well the pathologist of course told us the pedunculated myoma had a malignancy inside, not reaching the capsule anywhere. Now, you think you know what is coming, right? Well, he says, after extensive review they decided in their department, that it is an endometroid adenocarcinoma, with tumor markers indicating endometrial carcinoma. Unfortunately I haven't go the final result, because I also want to see whether he describes adenomyosis in the uterus itself. But he did exclude any pathology of the endometrium. Anyone seen something like this before? el
