I think that this is true, but in my (humble) experience, it a) doesn't cause a *high* fever (like 39C) and b) usually doesn't occur in women who have an epidural in place for only a short period of time. That's why our cut-off for pyrexia is temp > 38.5 on two separate evaluations and after bolusing some fluid.
