Re: Near Term Twins/Delivery Mode--long replyFrom: ainsron@msn.comFri Dec 22 16:30:44 2000
The interesting thing about charges and costs is that it has absolutely no relationship to reality. You are arguing about comparing apples to oranges. The true cost is probably in the range of $1-2.00, pretty miniscule amount. For example, I had a cervical fusion 4 weeks ago, overnite stay in the hospital. The hospital charges were ~$22,000 ($10,000 was for the fixation device, a small titanium plate). However, the amount paid by my copay and Blue Cross, after their adjustments was $1300, 6% of charges! If that is typical of insurance contracts with hospitals, which I'm sure it is, it is no wonder the healthcare system is in such bad shape in the US.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
