I'm generally not concerned about such platelet numbers in the third trimester, unless a woman is symptomatic of something else. My esteemed MFM colleagues have told me not to be concerned unless plts fall <100k. Even then, if the fall is at the very end, and everything else is WNL, it's probably just gestational thrombocytopenia. -- Kathi Wilson, RM Ilderton, Ontario, Canada mailto:wilsonk@gtn.on.ca ********************** Thames Valley Midwives 346 Platts Lane,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
