AetnaFrom: Deborah J. Wage (wagedj@bellsouth.net)Mon Nov 27 17:17:52 2000
Aetna told my billing coordinator today that when a provider is 'out of network' the hospital that he or she delivers at is automatically considered 'out of network' even if the hospital has a contract with Aetna making them '*IN* network. I find this unbelievable and have never heard of such a thing with any other insurance company. Anyone else? Deborah Wage, MSN, FNP,CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
