It is a joke in the worst taste.

I think the world of this list, so I will answer, although I do this with reluctance.

A physician partner and I were wondering what to call our nicely designed database which enabled us to track patients with prenatally designed birth defects. He suggested fufbase and when I asked what it stood for, he said "f'd-up fetus". The name stuck. When administrators of our Church run hospital toured our high-risk obstetrics consult office, they saw the "Welcome to Fufbase" on the computer and asked what it meant. My partner was very sharp and he responded without hesitation: "fetal ultrasound finding". The next day, the clergy commented at our meeting how impressed they were about fufbase.

That was about 6 years ago. I was getting on-line for the first time. I thought that short internet addresses sounded classy, so I asked my partner if anyone will know what fuf stands for? When he reassured me that no one would, I became fuf@gulf.net and had the shortest address of anyone I knew.

Years later, people would crack up when I handed them my business card and I knew that it wasn't an inside joke.

Soon I will get a cable modem and will chose a more tasteful joke for my address.

PS: if ondansetron won't prevent vomiting with 2 fingers in the throat, try granisetron.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
