Zofran has been removed from many hospital formularies in my area due to expense. Steroids are reported in the literature in a couple of studies to work extremely well in a remarkably short period of time-I've only seen it once but the results were outstanding. Tube feedings have also been successful and the HMOs like them over hyperal due to the lower cost factor. Screening for a thyroid disorder seems reasonable as does a close relationship with endocrine due to the diabetes. Good luck!!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
