Our office (one OB, three CNMs) referred two patients to our perinatal consultants today: #1--32 y/o G5, P3 (C/S x 3); now 32 weeks gestation, presented to L & D with c/o "bleeding gums, nosebleeds, discoloration of legs:" ; no history of bleeding disorder; no other discomforts, no hypertension, U/S WNL, no vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain. Platlet count--10,000 (was 230,00 at 28 weeks). #2--21 y/o G4, P2; now 19.5 weeks; h/o LEEP--U/S at 10 weeks--cervical length 3.7 cm. U/S this week--AFI of 1.9; fetal kidneys appear normal--fluid seen in bladder; Pelvic exam--neg nitrazine, fern, pooling; + fetal movements, AFP--WNL Comments on either appreciated. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
