Dear listmembers.... Today I received a phone call from a patient with a question that I don't understand...Please help me.. She has a 11 years old chlid who start her menarche...she is handicaped with mental retardation and microcephaly...Her pediatrician neurologists suggest an hysterectomy? and 2 oppinions with other OB/GYN's suggest the same...She ask me to operate her daughter, but...why? If the purpose of the surgery is contraceptive I think a pomeroy is enought...but, is there another reason for an TAH in this child? I don't know...so, sorry for this silly question, but...can you help me to clarify this topic? Thank for your help

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
