This looks like but doesn´t mimic the Swedish law since 1975: ***The woman alone decides 100.00% until 17+6*** A national board of supposedly wise women and men (mostly women nowadays) reviews applications from 18+0 and will consider allowing termination until "when the fetus is viable outside of the womb" which is currently interpreted as 21+6 if it's "only" a personal/social conflict but is interpreted as 23+6 if it's a congenital malformation or a real threat to maternal health. This wise board always allows a termination until 23+6 if it's a malformation or a maternal health issue and usually allows a termination for personal/social reasons until 21+6. The only frequent reason for not allowing a termination between 18+0 and 21+6 is when it's obvious that the patient - the woman - really doesn´t want an abortion but is under pressure from the would be father to have one. If this is the fact it will hopefully show in an "interrogation" by an almoner or wellfare officer - such an "interrogation" is obligatory from 18+0. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
