Re: Comment concerning 'client'From: DoctorJoe@aol.comFri Sep 29 08:07:25 2000
In a message dated 9/29/00 6:49:25 AM, eramirez@icepr.com writes: << According to one perspective, pregnancy is a potential illness and required rigorous surveillance to detect and treat complications, while the opposing view is that pregnancy is a natural phenomenon and requires intervention only when complications become obvious. >> Well, MY perspective is that pregnancy and delivery are natural phenomena. But then, so are pneumonia, meningitis, the plague, wild bears, avalanches, hurricanes and tornadoes. So if you want "natural," then be prepared for sudden death, sometimes without warning. If you want to hedge your bets, on the other hand, then avail yourself of some level of reasonable, informed, first-do-no-harm, modern medical care. (Notice I left out "evidence based" because that's just not possible for everything. LOL) Joe P. Of course, that's just my opinion... But I think it's right.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
