Thin PrepFrom: ainsron@msn.comMon Sep 25 19:07:13 2000
One of the problems with new technology is what to do with the information we get. I've recently started doing Thin Prep on my high risk patients - patients returning with history of ASCUS, LGSIL, etc. - post treatment F/U and at the time of colposcopy after an abnormal "standard" Autopap. I've had some interesting ones come back. One patient who had normal coloposcopy and previous LSIL on a Thin Prep taken about 4 weeks before showed normal cytology on 2nd Thin Prep, but positive on the HPV for "High and low risk HPV." In fact I've seen many HPV positives come back as positive for high and low risk HPV. Is that everyone elses experience also, if so what are you doing for them (or to them)?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
