I agree with Malcolm. How many Gyns don't have an ultrasound in their office now and do a quick and usually uncharged for TVUS when a patient presents with postmenopausal bleeding. The only ones I send for an "expensive" ultrasound at the hospital are the ones I can't visualize well or when questionable findings are present and I want a higher resolution ultrasound or color flow. Its not at all unusual for me to do a TVUS followed by an endometrial biopsy in the office when the findings warrant it and the only charges are for the office visit and the biopsy, not for the ultrasound. Quite a bargain if I don't say so myself!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
