Likely his hospital requires a full physical with pelvic, breast and rectal for every H&P - then the credentials committee has not decided who should be allowed to operate and provide post op care, but should NOT do full physicals. My hopspital has requirements that an Ophthalmologist or Dnetal surgeon has to have the H&P done by the patient's primary care doctor. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
