I am familiar with CNMs (Certified Nurse Midwives)but not with CPMs.I recommend she (Gaskin) read the most recent systematic overview (meta-analysis) on the use of misoprostol for cervical ripening and labor induction (Clin Obstet Gynecol 2000;43:475-488). The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
