fosamax and childbearingFrom: chris stanley (nd84md@aol.com)Fri Sep 15 19:41:10 2000
i have a woman 34yo on high dose prednisone for tx of MS. she is concerned about steroid induced osteoporosis. bone density is great right now. she wants to be put on fosamax, but i have little data on its use in premenopausal, much less childbearing, women. she is already on calcitonin nasal spray. can fosamax be leached from the bone matrix during pregnancy? she plans on having more children. any ideas or experience? thanks

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
