histerectomy with fetus in.From: Carlos Brito (clbmtoc@telcel.net.ve)Wed Aug 30 20:20:29 2000
I would like too see your opinions about this particular case : 34 years old, three gestations one of them twins, eclampsia in last gestation complicated with a severe puerperal miocharditys (one year ago).In this moment with cardiovascular repercution. The recent pap smear shows Intraepithelial neoplasy III,and at colposcopy atipical epithelium is seen. A few months ago a Conobiopsy was made and indicated NIC III, the lesion edge is not mentioned. She desperatly doesnt want to be pregnant but she´s carryng a ten weeks gestation. In this particular case do you agree ( if cardiovascular condition allows it) to pratice a inblock histerectomy ?? do you agree with the histerectomy. Would you separate the obstetric situation from oncological?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
