Re: Caesareans on the rise again ? (long)From: Braun, R. Daniel (rbraun@iupui.edu)Tue Aug 29 06:48:45 2000
A previous C-section is the biggest risk factor for having another. If the surgical cut was in the lower abdomen - not the upper - ACOG says most healthy women can try vaginally delivering their next baby as long as a surgeon is standing by if emergency surgery is needed. How many of you make a surgical cut in "the upper abdomen"???? WOW! Dan R. Daniel Braun, MD FACOG Clinical Professor Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Indiana U. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
