lets talk part 3From: K Dew (kdew@bellsouth.net)Tue Aug 29 04:05:57 2000
As we left our parturient, she was off the pitocin, fed, showered, with orders for cytotec. Along around midnight-thirty, I received a call from the labor nurse informing me that she refused to give the patient the cytotec as the heart tones were non-reassuring. I asked her what had changed, she told me that they were the same but she wasn't giving the cytotec. (this is after 8-9 hours of pitocin without decels) I went in, ruptured membranes, inserted an IUPC and applied FSE. Copious clear fluid. Still no change in the heart tracing. pitocin was resumed, 4 hours later no cervical change...section performed. apgars 8, 9 lusty cry pH 7.3something Kevin

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
