Dr. Bulley:

Thanks so much for your feedback. I agree that you've got to go into it expecting to HELP people, not expecting a large income. It seems as though you feel more satisfied by your work now that you are able to give your patients more of your time, and that you have some extra time for your family. That does concern me: The hours necessary in OB. I suppose that if it's what you truly enjoy, you can never get too much of it. :) I thank you for your reply. Every time I read an e-mail from any doctor posting here regarding why he or she chose this specialty, I cannot WAIT to get started. It is so exciting! In the meantime, I'll have to suffice with volunteering in local hospitals (which is so frustrating because I actually want to HELP), and studying hard. Alexandra

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
