Re: Actinomycosis (symptomless) revealed by Pap smearFrom: J. Hellriegel (jhellrie@pce.net)Thu Aug 24 10:41:50 2000
I have had a couple of these cases, but only with IUDs. I removed the IUD (and sent for culture - one neg. and one positive) and treated with Amoxicillin for weeks. Then retested the patient monthly for a couple of months. All were negative. Neither patient chose to use another IUD and neither has had any problems.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
