The type of lifting that nurses do, if done over a large abdomen with an altered center of gravity, can be hazardous and very uncomfortable. I myself had such bad back pains when I was pregnant that I could not sit in the same position for more than 10-15 minutes at a time and had to get up and walk frequently. Fortunately that's what I do all day anyway so it was no big deal (except when I took boards), but I would even give a disability note to a secretary who told me she couldn't sit all day if she asked for one. After all, it is only for a few months and I have dealt with a bunch of non-pregnant people whose questionable disabilities go on forever.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
