Reconstruction surgery for newborn mothers vaginal canal areaFrom: Chelsea Syzmanski (logcabin777@excite.com)Wed Aug 9 16:11:49 2000
A new patient of mine deleivered a healthy newborn 3 months ago,and she had come torealize that the butterfly stich holding her episiotomy had disolved prematurely, resulting in the tissue between the vaginal canal and the anal canal is now open, and did not heal correctly. She has complained of yeast infections, loss of sexual feelings (The ep cut was up in the top part of vagina as well, and the clitoris is now in the middle of the vagina instead of the tip,so she is "numb").Im not sure if its too soon after her delivery,or if a future childbearing would bring about a natual healing. She is distraught and uncomforatable at best. Im seeking the advice of my colleges within my practice as well as those here on this board,on what the best advice/best route should be. Obviously, this young woman wants noting to do with her former OBGYN,so I need info asap on what to do. Her next schedualed appointment is Aug 17th,2000,so Im collecting info from various resources, including my mentor,as I have never is my 3 years of practice seen such a sight. Her skin folds do not look like they are supposed to,and I really want to help her. Is this a cosmetic surgery,or can I help her? Please post an RE: if you can help or email me at logcabin777@excite.com.
