Bernard - your $0.02 is so correct!

When she was started on OCP's in the perimenopause, was she having irregular bleeding and was the status of her emdpmetrium known BEFORE starting the OCP's? I suspect she was started on the OCP's without an endometrial biopsy and this was already brewing BEFORE she was started on them.

Remember - you need to know the status of the endometrium before knee jerk of OCP's are OK for perimenopausal irreg bleeding. Not all perimenopausal DUB is benign.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
