I've been told that Lasik is different and there are not as many side effects, however it still comes down to altering the anatomy in a fashion that cannot be corrected, even with glasses, if it goes wrong. RK had been tested for at least 12 years in the US before I had it, used a surgeon who had done many. I was told prior to the surgery that I may still need glasses after, but glasses do not correct the problems I've had with scarring. For those who have good results, it is wonderful. For the "few" who have bad results, it is a nightmare.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
