Re: GEN: Scoping out an election in KansasFrom: DoctorJoe@aol.comWed Jul 26 15:07:24 2000
In a message dated 7/26/00 1:10:02 PM, evsono@pipeline.com writes: << this from today's New York Newsday re: evolution in Kansas - obviously not the most evolved educational system. http://www.newsday.com/ap/national/ap559.htm >> It's interesting that, in a sense, they're making the same arguments (or arguing the same theory) that WE'VE been doing on this forum. IS THERE a "local" standard of medical care (i.e. MANY local standards, depending upon where you are), or one big national standard? Here's how they're debating: "But Holloway contends she's not trying to ban the teaching of evolution, only leave it up to local boards of education. ''My question is, 'So, what's wrong with local control?''' she said." So the idea of teaching evolution so kids can be prepared to go to ANY college in the world, versus having a local "flavor" to your education (thus perhaps leaving kids at a disadvantage NATIONALLY), is what one of the threads of discussion is about. Interesting even beyond the evolution v. creation argument (which, as we all know, are NOT mutually exclusive...) Joe P. P.S. Isn't it nice that I put that little afterthought in there? ROFLOL

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
